萬能輸入法的萬能系列産品，有“萬能快筆”、“萬能五筆”、“萬能英譯中”、“萬能拼音”、“萬能筆畫”等，軟件發明人鄧世強。萬能輸入法起步于“音形碼”又叫“快筆”，其名來源于其輸入速度較“快” 。 發展到現在稱之“萬能快筆”。在原理與實踐上均優于五筆字型，“五筆字型”的優點在于重碼少、速度快，但缺點不但對漢字的拆分非常複雜，而且難學易忘。“快筆”其精華在于易學好用，而且錄入速度比五筆字型還快。早在 1995年“ 快筆 ”就得到國家的認可，獲得了發明專利【音形碼漢字輸入法--中國專利號： 95120931.0 】乃是我國真正獲得頒發發明專利證書的輸入法，騰飛于從單一的編碼方案，轉向多元的編碼方案的設計，于1997年獲得第二個專利方案 ，導致中國第一個“多元輸入法”的誕生，打破了傳統單一輸入法只能單向編碼的曆史禁锢，在輸入法春秋史上寫下了光輝的一頁。
