BitComet是基於BitTorrent協議的p2p文件分享免費軟件，支持多任務下載，文件有選擇的下載；磁盤緩存，減小對硬盤的損傷；只需壹個監聽端口，方便手工防火墻和NAT/Router配置；在WindowsXP下能自動配置支持Upnp的NAT和XP防火墻，續傳做種免掃描，速度限制等多項實用功能，以及自然方便的使用界面。
特點：
1. 全新高效的網絡內核，快速穩定，高速下載時依然保持很少的CPU占用。
2. 自動為不同的連接優化，默認配置即可獲得良好性能。
3. 支持多任務同時下載，並支持對壹個Torrent中的文件有選擇的下載，允許設定文件下載優先級。
4. 可以限制上傳速度、下載速度，避免影響其他網絡程序。（ADSL和上傳受ISP限制用戶建議設定最大上傳以提高性能）
5. 智能連接優化（IntelligentConnectionOptimize）技術，自動為不同的網絡連接進行優化，默認配置即可獲得良好性能。
6. 智能速度控制（IntelligentRateControl）技術，自動優化上傳分配以獲得最佳下載速度。
7. 智能磁盤緩存（IntelligentDiskCache）技術，犧牲內存占用為代價有效減小高速下載上傳對硬盤的損傷。
8. 智能磁盤分配（IntelligentDiskAllocating）技術，有效減少磁盤碎片產生。
9. 智能文件掃描（IntelligentHashScan）技術，續傳作種均無需再次掃描文件。
10. 聊天系統允許用戶與其他下載者聊天，支持群聊、私聊。（v0.53的新功能，默認關閉）
11. 支持臨時和永久封IP，永久IP規則的配置文件兼容eMule的ipfilter.dat。
12. 只需壹個TCP監聽端口即可滿足所有下載上傳需要。
13. 自動防火墻配置，自動配置XP網絡連接防火墻(ICF)和網絡連接共享(ICS)。
